Nov 16 , 2013 -> Journey Ended.

November 16 2013 - Journey ended and Country came to stand still...
Mumbai had no idea what it was going to witness that morning.Country's most loved child was set to bid farewell but the way it all happened brought tears in eyes of anyone who ever followed this game. As the last wicket of westindies fell in 2nd test which was Sachin's 200th and last, the players gathered in the mid pitch and lined up for the Guard of honour. But no one had ever witnessed a moving a guard of honour. All the team members literally escorted their MASTER to the boundary line. The respect , the adulation shown by the players brought tears even in the eyes of the MAN who had carried the expectations of the nation for long 24 years but never broke down. Then after the presentation came the time of one final speech. Thorughout his career he had never spoken much , he always let his bat do the talking , so people didn't expect a speech of more than 5 mins. But they were in for a surprise. When he held the mic the crowd just went berserk and he requested them to settle down so that we could start. "
My life between 22 yards, for 24 yrs it's hard to believe that the wonderful journey is coming to an end" These were His first words, and he went on. He literally thanked each and everyone who had directly or indirectly influenced his career in any which way. With every word of his, the emotions kept growing & the whole country was on stand still. By the time he finished the speech, all were in tears.
After that emotional speech came the time of one last lap of the ground. Indian Captain , Vice-Captain decided to lift the MAN on their shoulders to pay him final tribute. Tendulkar waved the tri colour as he was passed from one shoulder to another. The crowd kept chanting the slogan, Sachhinnn Sachhhiiinnnnn..........

Once the lap finished the players started moving towards the pavillion barring Sachin. Then came the most touching moment. Tendulkar all alone went towards the pitch , bent down , touched it and it appeared that he wispered  few words to the pitch. When he stood up and started walking back , tears were once again rolling down from his eyes. He went to the pitch to pay his last tribute and thank those 22 yards that has made him what he is today.
